How much money can I save by upgrading to a heat pump?

Heat pumps are heating and cooling systems designed to absorb heat from the outside air and distribute it throughout your house or commercial space. Rather than creating heat by consuming energy like natural gas or electricity, a heat pump simply moves heat from one place to another.

Heat pumps are three to four times more efficient in their use of electric power than baseboard heaters, they can move up to three times more air than dated gas furnaces with similar capacity and they’re significantly more efficient than oil furnaces. They’re practical, convenient and environmentally friendly; they’re safe, improve air quality, and add value to your property. Plus, they can also be used to cool your home during the warmer months!

Many factors influence the cost of heating a home—average outside temperature; fuel prices; indoor temperature setpoint; heating equipment condition; and building construction, to name a few.

The most accurate way to understand your heating costs is to compare the cost of a set amount of heat from several of the more popular fuel sources.  And we’ve done just that in our free report: “Understanding Today’s Heating Costs.
